A cable from JMWAVE in June of 1962 stated that "there no written record that any WAVE officer has used alias Winters. Certain that none or current staff use this alias. However there recollection that Major Gordon Young formerly assigned PM Branch WAVE used alias Cliff Winters. No one currently WAVE recalls Young using this alias with any individuals cited ref."
