1930s-1963: "Yes, I knew George," says Nicholas M. Anikeeff. "From young manhood before World War II, back in the 30s, we were close friends." In a recent interview, Mr. Anikeeff acknowledged not only his close and continuous relationship with de Mohrenschildt, but also his former employment with the CIA..."Yes, I believe I saw him," Anikeeff says of de Mohrenschildt, "in the spring of 1963." That would have been during de Mohrenschildt's travel to Washington DC, a stopover on his way to relocation in Haiti, where prospective business deals awaited him..."I don't recall any specific instance of speaking with de Mohrenschildt about Oswald prior to the assassination," Anikeeff insists. "Yes, I talked with de Mohrenschildt," he concedes, "and may have spoken with him about Oswald." However, Anikeeff maintains that he has "never had said anything to the Agency" about these discussions...It would appear that Anikeeff was a branch chief in the Soviet Russia Division."

At p. 5, a report from 9/24/41: "(von Mohrenschildt) was endeavoring to obtain a commission in the US Army as well as in the organization headed by Nelson Rockefeller and...he was waiting to be investigated for one of those positions." pp. 6-7 show that he could not be found in any records for government employment. He had been living with his brother Dmitri in NYC for the past month. (p. 3): An interesting long redaction about him, not yet lifted.

104-10105-10196: NOVEL PACKAGE: KENNEDY ASSASSINATION - GARRISON - 1967, FOLDER #

1967: Memo from CI/R&A Ray Rocca (at p. 4 of 22) to Larry (note: probably CIA general counsel Larry Houston): "Larry, Don (note: probably Donovan Pratt) has done a fine job on this. I have reviewed...and take full responsibililty for the statements. I have the following personal comments...We regarded de Mohrenschildt as probably tied back to the Soviets, and this is an active case as far as we are concerned. We are certain that de Mohrenschildt received mail from a former CIA staff member, N. M. Annikeeff. You may know that case. If not, Mr. Osborne or Mr. Birch O'Neal can fill you in. Unfortunately, we do not know the substance of the correspondence between these two people."

David Kaiser, The Road to Dallas (Potomac Press, ), p. 188

April-May 1963: While in Washington, de Mohrenschildt also took (Clemard Charles) to meet an old friend of his, Nicholas Anikeefe, who now worked for the State Department, and Anikeefe took them to meet with Senator Claiborne Pell. Telephone interview with Nicholas Anikeefe, July 16, 2005.
