A cable on June 5, 1964, had the handwritten name of Orville Bathe above Vedder's name.

Bruce P. Vedder was Chief, Psychological Warfare (PW) at JMWAVE from at least July 1964, to October 1966.

A dispatch on June 2, 1964, stated that "it was not until 13 May 1964, that AMLEO-3 (Capt. Jose Ricardo Rabel Nunez) mentioned to Bruce P. Vedder and Leon C. Fluteo (Bruce MacMaster), during a routine operational meeting, that he had sponsored and masterminded the aborted exfiltration operation, and that the operation had been mounted from the U.S., and not from inside the island, as he had previously claimed to the C/O."

A dispatch on June 8, 1964, stated that "Bruce P. Vedder also sees AMHINT-2 (Juan Manuel Salvat Roque) once or twice a month but the detailed direction of the project is in Bongirno's hands." The project in question was AMSPELL (the Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil, or DRE - Cuban Student Directorate). In addition, Vedder also worked with AMCORE-2 (Luis Conte Ageuro).

Orville Bathe was Chief, WH/COG in October of 1973.
