06/21/57: Cable from Managua to Director: "1. Two serious fires over weekend in cotton warehouses. DOC newspapers. 2. Ramskill reports following: A. NIC agents investigating new activities against Govt In Leon. Expects further data later. B. Has noticed for first time peculiar behavior of Tachito, who sometimes appears unaware what going on around him and is dissipating frequently. C. Tachito appears be 'running things' while Luis takes care frequent visits local political delegations. FC: ODACID (U.S. State Department) chief has copy letter from Irving Davidson to Tachito requesting VIP treatment for Murchison group arriving here tomorrow which takes up broad effects this visit on NIC, which would ordinarily be subject for President Luis consideration. D. Edwin Castro recently 'changed' his testimony against Gabriel Urcujo, brother-in-law Luis, who accused involvement Somoza assassination, so Urcujo can be set free. E. EROTOMANIA told him he here mainly get financing for hotel his real estate company WASH interested in building MANA, and Irving Davidson interested with him. Thinks can get financing OK. Eval A 2. 06/14/66: Dispatch from COS, JMWAVE to Chief, KUSODA (Info: Chief, WH Division): Subject: FJDUST/LCFLUTTER/PBRUMEN/Transmittal of LCFLUTTER Results: Page 223: 06/02/66: "Subject: Iden A: AMSTALK/1 was interviewed and tested on 2 June 1966 at a safe site in the Miami area at the request of George H. Ramskill. The interview was conducted in English. AMSTALK/1 is a Principal Agent of an infiltration team. Results: AMSTALK/1 is not cooperating in any way with the government of any country other than PBPRIME (U.S.). He has never done anything on purpose to cause a mission to fail. He is not obligated to any of the Cuban exile organizations. He does not discuss with or report to any unauthorized persons regarding his operational activities. He has not taken any unauthorized persons to a safehouse or a training site. AMSTALK/1 was asked whether anything had ever happened on a mission which he did not report during his after-section debriefings. He replied in the negative and there was no indication of deception. Details: AMSTALK/1 stated that he was interested in the possibilities of going into private business in Costa Rica, but so far he had made no commitments. If and when he does he plans to give KUBARK (CIA) the necessary notice. Examiner's Note: While AMSTALK/1 charts during previous tests were unresolved the charts of 2 June 1966 were readable and are considered valid. Keith D. Winett."

04/26/67: Memorandum from SO/I/Ramskill to File of AMSTALK-1 (201-307337) (Info: D/OPS, C/IO, C/IS): Subject: Recruitment Proposal Received by AMSTALK-1: "1. On 25 April 1967, Ramskill and Cobfield met with AMSTALK-1 at safehouse #316 at his request for the purpose of discussing what the agent described as 'a matter of urgency.' 2. AMSTALK-1 said that his cousin, one Marta Isalque Rdoriguez, 44 years old, arrived in Miami via the Freedom Flight on 11 April 1967. She is the wife of Fernando de Rojas, who is presently serving a 30 year sentence in La Cabana Prison for conspiracy against the Castro Government. ..."

04/27/67: Memorandum from SO/II/Leland H. Cobfield to AMSTALK-1 201 File (Thru: Chief, SO Branch, DCOS/O, Chief, IO Branch): Subject: April 26 Meeting with AMSTALK-1: "1. Cobfield and Ramskill had a second meeting with AMSTALK-1 at S/H 316. An enlargement of the message which was concealed in the crucifix and brought to Miami from Cuba by the cousin of AMSTALK-1 was shown to AMSTALK-1. He read the message and the English translation, commenting that the English coincided with his own interpretation. 2. AMSTALK-1's reaction to the contents of the letter was mild and he did not appear too concerned about the threats to his family (paragraphs 2 and 3). He stated that he did not recognize the name at the bottom of the letter (Arturo Pita Rey) and commented that from talks with his cousin he believed the real sender of the letter was Manolo Piniero/'Barba Roja' (Director of the DGI), and that the name and address was probably an accommodation address used by the Cuban Intelligence Service. 3. AMSTALK-1 identified the names in Paragraph 2 as follows: Fernando - Fernando de Rojas - husband of AMSTALK-1's cousin, Marta (the source of the message) presently serving a 30 year sentence in Havana...Carlos - Carlos Pedraza - husband of Gina Isalgue who is AMSTALK-1's aunt and also in jail. Ramon - Ramon Guin, member of former AMTRUNK net and connected with Rolando Cubela, presently sentenced to Isle of Pines Prison. Gina - Gina Isalgue, sister of AMSTALK-1's mother and wife of Carlos Pedraza, presently in jail..."
