Operator reports agent apparently cooperative, displayed no signs of trying to 'beat' test, suggests reschedule 20 July. 2. Request guidance on FOL incident reported by UNSNAFU-5 in pre-test talk, not reflected file info here: He and eight friends arrested in 1959 after arms discovered in his beach house at Varadero. Held Camp Colombia near Havana for about ten days, interrogated by 'Dier' and allegedly released when threatened stage hunger strike. States arms were mainly from 'Charlie Gomez' (Handwritten above: AMLASH-1). Bare facts sound fishy, but before discussions in detail with agent, would like to know if this previously reported, PLS advise. 3. Will continue training, but slow down exposure other staffers until para 2 clarified and satisfactory test run."

States any member of group can confirm this story. States Cuban situation that time very confused and doubts if any formal records of affair were kept..."

Gomez had been a school friend of (REDACTION)-5 since they took their baccalaureate together and came from Central Cuba, about 20 kilometers east of Santa Clara. Gomez had been in the hills with the revolutionary forces in the Santa Clara region (Eastern Oriente) and had sent notes to various of his school friends asking them to join him...4...'Charlie Gomez' was in Paris in 1963..."
