A letter in October of 1967 from Luis Conte Aguero (AMCORE-2) was addressed to "Douglas (Michael C. Choaden), my friend." Choaden was also an alias for David Phillips.

A cable in March, 1961, stated that "should HQs desire contact with AMIGGY-1 (note: Espino Lopez Rieto), CO can establish bona fides by identifying self as Miguel and saying he friend of 'Douglas.'"

A cable from Santo Domingo in August of 1965 stated that "AMCORE-2 said he was at Imbert house and it imperative that 'Mr. Douglas' come immediately to talk to Imbert."

03/21/61: Cable to BELL: JMZIP/PSYCH: "1. AMIGGY-1 (note: Espino Lopez Rieto) who on excellent terms with Miro being sent New York by WAVE accompanied by announcer. Mission is prepare one or more on spot programs covering public statements by and interviews with Miro and others of new revolutionary council. Programs to be aired over Unidad Revolucionaria on WRUL and SWAN. 2. AMIGGY-1 will contact WRUL in New York and arrange for programming from there. Should HQs desire contact with AMIGGY-1, CO can establish bona fides by identifying self as Miguel and saying he friend of 'Douglas.' 3. Expect AMIGGY-1 will stay same hotel as Miro."

08/30/65: Cable from Santo Domingo to Director: "1. AMCORE-2 (Luis Ernesto Conte Aguero) made first contact by phone 2000 night 28 August. Said at time impossible make personal contact. Reported that everything appeared optimistic ('patriotism reigns'). At this time AMCORE-2 was with Imbert and coterie at Imbert home. All were undoubtedly discussing fact that chiefs of staff, at meeting afternoon 28 August, had indicated to Bunker that they intended accept settlement, regardless of Imbert's decision. 2. Next contact was at 0200 morning 29 August. AMCORE-2 said he was at Imbert house and it imperative that 'Mr. Douglas' come immediately to talk to Imbert. COS attempted contact Bunker, but hotel refused awaken..."

10/31/67: Translated letter from Luis Conte Aguero to Michael C. Choaden (David A. Phillips): "Douglas (Michael C. Choaden), my friend, In August 1965, under circumstances which you should recall very well, you made certain general promises to assist me, and, specifically to finance a magazine which we would distribute throughout the hemisphere. Later, Alvin Bracket (Leon C. Fluteo) told me that the project would be implemented and that he had been instructed to ask me for a budget, though along somewhat more modest lines that those upon which we had agreed at that early morning meeting on the island (Hispaniola)..." - - - Page 2: "To avoid wrong interpretations, I wish to emphasize that my relations with Joe Crespi (Edward D. Knapman) are fine. He is pleasant to deal with and knows his job..."
