One of Jack Ruby's attorneys. Died Nov. 6, 2001, at age 88, in Jasper, TX. 1932 graduate of Port Arthur High School. Graduated from University of Texas and received his LLB in 1941. His wife, Violet Smith Tonahill, died in 1997 after 56 years of marriage. Survived by six children: Mildred Elmore of Austin; Rebecca Tonahill of Houston, Susie Tonahill Hile of Ausin, Howard Worth Smith Tonahill of Littleton, Colorado, Joe H. Tonahill, Jr., of Vail, Colorado, and Anne Tonahill Smith of Jasper, TX.
