Had attended University of Monterrey. Spoke fluent Spanish. Went to Mexico in summer of 1963; violated National Firearms Act. Agent Frank Ellsworth was "undercover" on the case. HSCA asked R.D. Matthews if he knew Masen. Matthews said, "No." His mother, Mrs. Edna Masen, died Fri, Oct 22, 1982. Survived by husband: John A. Masen; son and daughter-in-law: John T. and Claudia Masen; granddaughters: Wanda Anderson, Melony Masen, Johnna Masen, Dawn Masen; grandson: Christopher Masen; sister: Nan Selvidge (apparently all are in Dallas area).
