Originally was a reporter for Dallas Morning News. Became Administrative assistant to Jesse Curry. Interviewed by Bob Clark, ABC. Later served as Dallas Chief of Police in late 1970s. Died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at his home in Dallas. Survived by wife: Dorothy; daughter: Kathy Smith; sons: Marc King, Kenneth King and Corey King; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother: Thomas Clifford King; sisters: Marie Kennedy and Winnie Furrh.
