44 in 1971. Visiting Mexico in 1962 when convicted of killing Louis M. Vidal, Jr., his business partner, of New York, in Mexico City. CIA involved? Nephew of Jacob Merrill Kaplan, whose J.M. Kaplan Fund was named in a 1964 congressional investigation as a conduit for CIA money for Latin America.
