DOB: May 19, 1924; POB: Philadelphia. Graduated from St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia. Attended St. Joseph's University and Villanova University. Joined the Navy in its V-12 program and received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Navy Commander and Chief Pathologist, Bethesda Naval Hospital. Performed autopsy on President Kennedy's body. DOD: Thursday, May 6, 1999, at age 74 from lung cancer. Survived by wife, Ann Mary Harrington Humes; seven children - daughters: Ann Mary Sansbury, 45, of Windermere, FL, Alyce Marie Greider of Jacksonville Beach, FL; sons: James of Chicago, Jeffrey of Wellington, FL, Gerald of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Philip of Douglasville, GA, and Kenneth of Miami, FL; and nine grandchildren.
