70-year-old former newswoman, vouched for by Congressman Hale Boggs, wrote letter to Robert F. Kennedy on 12/11/63 giving details of bus ride from S. Carrollton and S. Claiborne, going toward town, about 2:30 p.m. on weekday after school opened the first week of September 1963 (she works at Notre Dame Seminary library, 2901 S. Carrollton). Young man sat beside her, slim, rumpled, clean sport shirt, khaki trousers, carrying small canvas overnight bag. He seemed elated and told of just arriving at N.O. airport from trip to Cuba. (Had flown to Cuba from Mexico.) "I saw Castro. He is a fine guy. A great person. From now on, no prisoners are going to be released to U.S. unless I say so." Young man says State Dept. uses him because of his Cuban contacts. Army flew him back to N.O. FBI met him at airport and brought him to Canal and (?). FBI did not take him home because they don't want to know where he lives. He gets off bus with transfer possibly at Napoleon Avenue. She uses Connie Kaye's phone at 711 Royal to call N.O. States Item and FBI.
