Warrant Officer known as "the bagman," "the Big Carrier," "the man with the satchel." The bag was also known as the "black bag," the "black box," and "the football." Gearhart's job was to stay close to the President of the United States. The metal suitcase carried code books, including one that could launch a nuclear attack.
