Dallas Police officer who rode in car taking Oswald from Texas Theater to Police Station 11/22/63. Others in car: Lt. Paul Bentley, C. E. Walker, Jerry Hill, Lyons (a special officer) retired as a sergeant and team leader of the SWAT Team in 1979 after 26 years as a Dallas Police Officer. Had known Jack Ruby six or eight years. Died Thursday, August 27, 1988, following a heart attack at HCA Medical Center, Plano, TX. Survived by wife, Carol Glossup Carroll, of Allen; son: Mark Carroll of Garland; daughters, Rhonda Carroll of Lewisville and Kim Held of Dallas. Brother: Dan Carroll of Arlington.
