Attorney. President of Double-Chek Corp., a brokerage firm that served as a CIA cover for the recruitment of pilots employed in Central America and the Caribbean. DOB: 1925. Received BA from Univ. of Michigan, Ann Arbor. LLB from Univ. of Miami at Coral Gables in 1953. He paid off widows of Alabama Guard members who were killed in Bay of Pigs - the women said their checks came from Double-Chek. Carlson approached the widows later with another attorney, Thomas F. McDowell from Birmingham.
