Living in Rockwall, TX when he died 12/29/79. Had been with Dallas Police Department 36 yrs before retiring in 1972. Involved in Steve Guthrie affair. Nicknamed "Mr. Hard Fists" by Dallas criminals. Survived by widow: Mrs. Frances P. Butler; daughters: Mrs. Norma Bottorff and Mrs. Dorothy Knight.
