DOB: 9/28/40 in Ashland, KY; 22 yrs old in 1962; Bernard Weissman was asked about him (Birchwell); Weissman denied knowing him; (Burchwell) arrested in Dallas Sunday, 9/30/62, 6:30 a.m., with .357 Magnum pistol, three .22 pistols, a rifle, 3000 rounds of ammunition, and a switchblade knife. Had served in Germany under General Walker. At time of arrest, he denied he was en route to Oxford, Mississippi, to join General Walker's attack on federal forces at the University of Missippi. 200 to 300 index cards in Burchwell's possession at time of arrest were sent to FBI in Washington. Also had unlisted phone number of Robert A. Surrey among his possessions. Widow: Patricia Burchwell lives in Rowlett, TX in 1992; widow and son say Burchwell wrote General Walker's Pro Blue book; he was killed in Vietnam in 1968 during second tour of duty there; has a son, Ashland Frederick Burchwell, born in 1964.
