4/23/64, dispatch from Chief, JMWAVE to Chief, SAS: "Transmitted herewith is a revised copy of Operation ZORRO. A four man team from the AMLILAC group will emplace a 250 pound cache of weapons and ammunition in the vicinity of Playa de Morrillo, Pinar del Rio province...this cache is for AMLASH-1." The next page states that ZORRO is the cryptonym and the purpose was to keep AMLASH/Rolando Cubela supplied with weapons and explosives.

Passengers: 5 (cache team): AMLILAC-24, AMLILAC-18, AMLILAC-26, AMNUBA-1, AMLITAIN-1 (P/A will remain on Neptune): Cargo: 250 lbs ammo, weapons. C. Operational craft - Neptune - 54 ft equity water taxi, dark green hull, medium green superstructure. Intermediate craft - RB-12 W/18 hp silent outboard motor...."

05/21/64, Dispatch from COS, JMWAVE to Deputy Chief, WH/SA: "1. Dependent upon the availability of Maritime assets, it is planned to re-run Operation ZORRO o/a 19 June 1964. 2. Operation ZORRO is the emplacement of a 250-pound cache of weapons and explosives on the north coast of Pinar del Rio. The cache is for AMLASH-1. 3. See Reference A for Operation Plan."

7/16/64 message to AMTRUNK-10: "If you have received the (AMLASH) cache, we would appreciate your answers to the following questions. One. Were the contents of the cache in good condition when you received them?...Six. What do you intend to do about the cache in Pinar del Rio (ZORRO cache)?..."
