All of Mexico City’s references to the Oswald case would use the LCIMPROVE indicator of an operation designed to counter the Soviets, rather than the TYPIC indicator that would refer to Cuban operations.

A CIA Office of Personnel file states that Harold Francis Swenson served as the "Senior TYPIC Representative in Europe." It further states, "During this period he (Swenson) has...participated in operations involving some 30 assets, many of them resident agents in PBRUMEN (Cuba)." This would support that TYPIC is a reference to the Agency's Cuban activities in which Swenson managed several Cuban routed sources.
