Cryptonym: OD

Return to Main Crypts Page

Definition:
Departments or agencies of the U.S. government.
Status:
Documented
Discussion:
Given that all of roughly a dozen decoded crypts beginning with OD are departments or agencies of the U.S. government (or in the case of ODYOKE, the U.S. government itself), this identification of the OD digraph seems certain.

"The Review Board also generally released CIA "digraphs" - the first two letters of a crypt that link a particular crypt to a particular location. CIA often created crypts to refer to other U.S. government agencies; for example, the FBI was "ODENVY".
