11/8/63 cable from Chief, Mexico City Station to Chief, EE Division: "Subject, in the Station's opinion, represents the most likely recruitment target in the NYXIS field at the present time." The subject was a Polish intelligence officer, and the station was interested in him as an operational target.

11/21/63 cable from Chief of Station to Chief, EE Division: "The two NYXIS officers in the (Mexico City) station" were responsible for processing the LIFEAT/LITMUS and LIFEAT/BEDOX material."

12/3/63: "All interested hdqs components including reps LCIMPROVE, NYXIS and TYPIC matters have discussed ops value of reversed post office box listing...could provide three lists, one numerical by box number, second alphabetical by renter of box, and third alphabetical by name of person who receives mail." Would indicate close evaluation of Lee Oswald's use of his mail boxes.

Following from Sloman: A. Basis discussions WAVE CO with AMCROAK-1 and review debriefing AMOT-2, CO satisfied AMCROAK-1's ardent desire assist in overthrow AMTHUG-1 and sincere enthusiasm to assist CIA. AMCROAK-1 expressed necessity collect intel before any action be mounted and wishes dedicate his activities exclusively to intel collection. B. AMCROAK-1 proposed forming a net of 4 doctors and his wife. He and other doctors know disgruntled rebel army officers and/or wives tho feel obligated to doctors. Wishes use wife, whom he describes as most courageous and having fought 4 years in Spanish Civil War. To copy OWVL, CO will obtain complete data on doctors and security review on all proposed individuals including AMCROAK-1. C. AMCROAK-1 expressed eagerness be trained all phases intel collection, reporting and commo. Stated best time receive OWVL between 8 and 9:30 AM. Only possible transmission hours between 9 and 11 PM. Indicated could transmit from his home in Nuevo Vedado or his consulting office. Claims in both sites has numerous places hide set, such as numerous pieces of large medical equipment, some of which are hollow. D. Since AMCROAK-1 stated he may only transmit in evenings, request HQs coordinate with NYXIS Div for release FSS-7 whose output necessary for evening transmissions. E. CO will continue debriefing and, thereafter commence training, which should be completed by evening 7 Dec. Suggest commo instructor arrive MADR AM 7 Dec. Station will arrange passage through customs. F. AMCROAK-1 discussed op plan, mentioned previous cables, with AMOT-2. Plan consisted of elimination high GOC personalities. AMCROAK-1 has not mentioned plan to CO."

104-10187-10171: DISPATCH: REQUEST FOR REPORTING ON CUBAN IS

7/30/64 dispatch from Acting Chief of Station, Tokyo to Chief, Far East Division: "We have been experiencing difficulty in getting an official to assign additional men to the NYXIS team. (An employee of an official Japanese? service) told us some time ago that the team would be increased by 3, but so far he has failed to come through...we were told that when the team membership is increased we will have one man to work exclusively on the Cuban target..."

Late 1964: Station was concerned about the Warren Commission publishing the Mystery Man photo, fear of putting basehouses at risk: "PBRUMEN (Cuba) and various NYXIS delegations would also become more wary or request investigations."
