This 1993 CIA document lists various crypts and their definitions. KUDESK is identified as "Counterintelligence Division"

Counterintelligence Division under Angleton (1954-75) had seven branches: CI/RA (Ray Rocca was prominent); CI/OPS (Will Potocki was prominent); CI/IC (International Communism); CI/SIG (Birch O'Neil was prominent); CI/IP (International Police); CI/LS (Jane Roman was prominent) and CI/SOG (Israel). Two thirds of the CI officers worked in CI/RA or CI/OPS. Colby said he considered the CI Division's job was to secure penetrations inside Soviet security and to debrief defectors; Office of Security's job was to unearth penetrations within the CIA.

Thia declassified memo from 11/25/63 caused a stir due to the author's recollection that CIA had considered the "laying on of interviews" with Oswald, something the Agency has denied ever doing. It goes on to discuss that CIA had noticed the number of Soviet women marrying foreigners. and their possible KGB connections, something that "KUDESK became interested in."

5/1/62 dispatch from Chief of Station, JMWAVE to Chief, TFW, slugline Operational/GYROSE/KUTUBE/KUDESK/PM: DRE's Intelligence Section provided info on Cuban defenses, devised by Che Guevara: "The backbone of the resistance system is the natural caves throughout the island, plus the tunnels constructed by foreign technicians and selected Cuban personnel in the areas where there are no or not enough caves."

8/17/62 cable from JMWAVE to C/TFW, slugline GYROSE: "HQS, TFW, KUWOLF, and KUDESK files reflect Mario Garcia Kohly previous maneuvers over long period to obtain financial support from (CIA) and (Navy). Overtures turned down basis unfounded claims. Detailed investigation by Mr. REDACTED."

11/28/63 cable DIR 85059 from Canberra to Director: Emb officer who received unknown informer's call on 10/15/62 listened to tape of 11/23/63 claiming that the Soviets killed JFK, convinced it is the same person. On that tape, see 104-10015-10375, p. 4.

4/5/65 29-page memo by James Angleton to J. Edgar Hoover about George de Mohrenschildt's activities in Haiti - because of Hoover and the Warren Commission's interest in George and Jeanne de Mohrenschildt. At p. 4, de Mohrenschildt had a meeting with George Macmillan, partner of Priscilla Johnson who interviewed Oswald in 1959.
