Retalhuleu Air Base, used for air training at the time of the Bay of Pigs, was known as JMADD.

JMADD was called "Rayo Base" by the Cubans. The base was also used "to supply the Cuban exile force that was training in the mountains on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala at 'Trax Base'". JMADD was located 33 miles from the Pacific Coast and 3 miles from Retalhuleu.
