Definition:
JEANINE was a maritime caching operation from JMWAVE which was due to take place in December of 1963.
Status:
Documented
Discussion:
A cable from JMWAVE on December 4, 1963, mentioned JEANINE as one of the operations discussed in a telecon between Stanley R. Zamka (David Morales and Clayton A. Naback (possibly Theodore Shackley). Operation JEANINE was to use the vessel "Twilight. Rex will support from Marquesas Keys area in same manner as COBRA XI." Another cable on December 4, 1963, stated that "AR-15s not approved for op JEANINE this to include those intended for caching."

A cable on December 13, 1963, contained the slug JEANINE, and concerned an AMLILAC ("Commando Groups" - Comandos Mambises and others - involved in infiltrations into Cuba) caching team (which consisted of AMLILAC-1, AMLILAC-26, AMLILAC-27, AMLILAC-28, AMLILAC-30, and a cargo of 200 pounds of arms and ammo). Another cable on December 13, 1963 (originated by Calvin Hicks, SAS/MOB/PM) included the SAS comment which confirmed that JEANINE was a maritime operation.

A dispatch on Operation ZORRO (a cache operation conducted by a four man team to provide weapons and explosives for Rolando Cubela inside Cuba), in April of 1964, listed JEANINE as one of the operations exposed by it.
