CIA's Camp Peary, also known as "The Farm".

Biography of Izaguirre/AMPUG-1: Former manager of Havana daily newspaper. In September 1960 received training in sabotage from CIA at base known as ISOLATION. Traveled to US on 5/15/61 representing Cuban resistance groups on the island seeking US support. Independent - cooperating with UR.

9/14/62 dispatch from Chief, JMWAVE to Chief, Task Force W: "Stanley R. Zamka (note: David Morales) as "Dr. Meza" meets AMHINT-2 for regular PM operational purposes." It states that Zamka has also met with "Jose Maria Lasa U. upon occasion concerning Lasa's direct liaison with Headquarters through Fletcher V. Knight (Richard Helms)." The previous page states that "the CEDAR team, a PM team destined for Oriente Province returned from Isolation training and are awaiting infiltration." On 8/17, AMHINT-2 met with Zamka, Noemayr and Nelander representing "AMHINTS, AMSPELL and AMBARBS, respectively...the meeting could not be considered a success. AMHINT-2 was adamant in retaining control of AMBARB funding of at least one official delegate in each country. He refused to even discuss LCFLUTTER for himself..."

Mid-1960s: "'The Farm' is officially known by the cryptonym ISOLATION (cryptonyms are always written in capitals), and is a covert training site run by the Office of Training under military cover. It is a few hours' drive from Washington, and we will spend most of the next six months there. On Friday evenings those who wish will be allowed to check out for the week-end. The briefing officer said that there is daily Agency air service (military cover) between Washington National Airport and ISOLATION, but the flights are used mostly by Agency personnel not assigned for long periods to the base...The base is thickly wooded and surrounded by high, chain-link fences topped by barbed-wire with conveniently placed signs warning: 'US Government Reservation. No Trespassing.' The northern boundary of the base is the York River and the base itself is divided internally into different tightly-controlled areas including administration, which is towards the entrance, the JOT training site, the staff housing area, the landing field, and distinct sites for training in border crossing, sabotage, weapons, air and maritime operations, ambush, evasion and escape, and clandestine meetings."

9/19/69 memo from Assistant General Counsel James Ueberhorst for the Director of Security re George Martin Rosnek (probably Yuri Nosenko's pseudonym): "...we concluded that Virginia was the best jurisdiction for the following reasons. First, subject lived in ISOLATION for almost five years before moving to a safehouse in Herndon, Virginia. Thus, any legal residence in the United States would have been in Virginia."

Camp Peary is an approximately 9,000 acre U.S. military reservation in York County near Williamsburg, Virginia. Officially referred to as an Armed Forces Experimental Training Activity (AFETA) under the authority of the Department of Defense, Camp Peary hosts a covert CIA training facility known as "The Farm", which is used to train officers of the CIA's Directorate of Operations, as well as those of the DIA's Defense Clandestine Service,[1] among other intelligence entities. Camp Peary has a sister facility, "The Point", located in Hertford, North Carolina.
