Cryptonym: HYHULA-1

Definition:
Either Dr. Marcos A. Roble or Dr. Mario J. de Obaldia, both Panamanians. A cable on June 8, 1962, stated that AMBUD-1 (Jose Miro Cardona) would have supper with HYHULA-1 and Dulcido Gonzalez (arrangements made by AMTEASE-1 - Heriberto Corona Mendez).
Status:
Speculative
Discussion:
In addition, a CRC memo on June 11, 1962, stated that AMBUD-1 would spend dinner with Dr. Marcos A. Roble, Minister of Government and Justice, the above mentioned Dulcido Gonzalez, Economic Adviser to the President, and Dr. Mario J. de Obaldia, the Mayor of Panama City. Furthermore, a Transmittal of TDCS Information Report in August 1962 cited HYHULA-1 as being a source for the accompanying Information Report Telegram. HYHULA-1 appears to be described as "a Panamanian with contacts in high-level official circles." Therefore, it appears as if HYHULA-1 may be either Dr. Marcos A. Roble or Dr. Mario J. de Obaldia. The other source used in the TDCS, HYIF-1, was described as being a "Panamaian close to President Chiari." Also, the crypt HYJULA-1 was mentioned in the cable of 8 June, 1962.
