This is revealing - Sanjenis was not only a member of the group of businessmen and professionals known as Agrupacion Montecrist, but he also became by the end of 1960 the top anti-Castro Cuban in charge of intelligence at JMWAVE.

5/26/60 cable from Mexico City to Director: "LITAMIL-1 anxious go Miami soonest talk with AMWAIL re plans movement. LITAMIL-1 has not heard from AMWAIL, AMWAIL-3 or LITAINT-1 (for) several weeks. As mentioned earlier he feels 'left out' and feels only way get into movement is go Miami talk (to) AMWAIL.

10/28/60 meeting between AMWAIL and JMASH chief Paul Manson. Reference is made to recent meeting between ZAMKA (David Sanchez Morales) and AMWAIL-3 about "I and I activities (intelligence and information). That would be consistent with AMOT formation, which occurred during this time.

1960-61 time period: See p. 113 of 154, Frank Sturgis states at deposition that the CIA had three Cuban groups, the Revolutionary Council led by Howard Hunt, the 2506 Brigade led by Col. Erneido Oliva, and Operation 40 led by Jose Joaquin Sangenes. (Proper spelling of his last name affirmed at 180-10108-10086, p. 17 of 21.) Page 115: Funded by CIA, trained by CIA and US Army. Frank Bender aka Gerry Drecher is the "top CIA official who was in charge of the CIA operation in South Florida for this mess." Page 9: His "code name was Sam Jennis."
