Cryptonym: AMTRUNK-8

Definition:
Used aliases Tomas Rodriguez and Rodrigo Fernandez Lopez. A cable in December 1963 stated that recent information from friends and family of AMTRUNK-7 and -8 indicated that AMTRUNK-8's father was in jail for helping Juan Milian. It added that AMTRUNK-8's father and Milian knew A-8 was infiltrated into Cuba in September 1963.

Discussion:
A dispatch in December 1963 stated that AMTRUNK-8's uncle was Pablo Fundora Dominguez, who lived in Cardenas, and A-8's father was the captain of the tug boat "Moraima", in Matanzas Province, in Cuba. Furthermore, a dispatch in October 1963 mentioned that AMTRUNK-8 used the alias "Rodrigo Fernandez Lopez" when he and other members of AMTRUNK were picked up by a British destroyer in late August 1963. In addition, a damage report, attached to a dispatch in January 1964, stated that AMTRUNK-8 was exposed to AMTRUNK-13 as "Tomas Rodriguez."

Infil area has been repeatedly stirred up by refugee infil/exfil ops to being out families and others ops not controlled by WAVE. Some recent examples being capture Juan Milian and friends, trips into area by AMTRUNK-5 and friends and roll up Juan Amestoy. Recent info from friends and family AMTRUNK-7 and 8 indicate A-8's father in jail for helping Milian, fact that both Milian and A-8's father knew A-8 infiltrated in Sept in general area, and report that area has more militia than usual. On other hand, there no indication from local fisherman group with families still in ops area that general roll up has occurred. AMTRUNK team has been briefed on all these developments and if it goes into area will enter mangroves at location different from the previously used, and will use extreme caution in approaching contacts..."

Fundora is married to Ramona Diaz Torres, the daughter of Oscar Diaz above. Fundora has 3 brothers; Amador; 43, who works in the Salina (salt works) in the Cinco Leguas area north of the Bay of Santa Clara; Ramon, 40, who is a deck hand on the tug boat 'Moraima', of which the father of AMTRUNK-8 is Captain; Roberto, 31, a laborer in the Ministry of Public Works in Matanzas Province..."
