Cryptonym: AMTRUNK-12

Definition:
Unknown identity. Candidates to be AMTRUNK-12 might include Daniel and Norberto Gonzalez Carmenate, and Adolfina Suarez More. A cable in December 1963 stated that Julio Calderon Justiz, Rafael Suarez More and Clodoaldo Gonzalez Carmenate (all with a Cuban Naval background) were friends of AMSTY-3 in Cuba.
Status:
Unknown
Discussion:
It appears as if one of the three friends of AMSTY-3 mentioned above was a brother of AMTRUNK-12. A name that is mentioned in a AMTRUNK document is Adolfina Suarez More, who may be the brother of Rafael Suarez More mentioned above. In addition, Daniel Gonzalez Carmenate was listed in a CIA document, in early 1963, in regard to a list of unit commanders and staff of Brigade 2506. There is apparently no confirmation that Daniel Gonzalez or Norberto L. Gonzalez Carmenate was the brother of Clodoaldo Gonzalez Carmenate at the present time. However, the former was a prisoner in Cuba following the failed bay of Pigs invasion in April 1961. In addition, Daniel Gonzalez Carmenate is listed as being one of the Tank Chiefs of Brigade 2506 in a document in early 1963. Furthermore, Norberto L. Gonzalez Carmenate is listed with Daniel Gonzalez Carmenate as a participant in the Bay of Pigs invasion, in the Cuban Information Archives website.
