May have been Ramon Lorido, aka "Monchin", aka Ramon Agustin Pinedo Mejia, a treasurer like AMPAN-2/Roberto Vale. The two men were described as the "Gold Dust Twins." AMPAN-3 was in the shipping business.

11/08/60, Cable from Havana to Director: Slugline JMNET: "1. Subj ref placed aboard AMPAN-4 boat at 0730 hours 7 Nov. Departure scheduled for approx 1900 hours 7 Nov with ETA at destination 36 hours later. However departure may be delayed until morn hours 8 Nov and Station may have difficulty confirming exact hour due fact AMPAN-3 departed for Miami P.M. 7 Nov. Consequently necessary reception officer be ready at port of entry from approx 0700 hours 9 Nov. But prepared for delayed arrival of several hours. 2. Subj will use name of Enrique Rodriguez. Every effort being made HAVA end prevent leak in knowledge Subj has departed. Request MASH exert every effort prevent untimely disclosure in U.S. Point of debarkation and means of travel should be protected at all costs. This conveyed to passenger but request MASH reiterate. 3. AMPAN-3, 11, 4 and AMGIRIT-1 and his brother (Ignacio) participated in exfil this end. Request confirm safe arrival."

12/31/60, Cable from WAVE to BELL: "1. WAVE CO met AMPAN-2/Roberto Vale and AMPAN-3 30 Dec. AMPAN-2 stated had been introduced by mutual acquaintance to Roberto Suarez de Cardenas, Banco Financiera, on 29 Dec. Suarez identified by AMPAN-2 as 'high in internal AMBANG circles.' Mutual acquaintance at time of introduction established AMPAN-2 bona fides to Suarez as 'long time activist revolutionary circles with excellent connections Americans/U.S. Government.' 2. Suarez stated had specifically been authorized by AMBANG-1 to approach AMPAN-2 for aid in obtaining one time grant $75,000 which rock bottom AMBANG budget for all activities (time period not given). Suarez mentioned AMBANG on again, off again financial relations with Bender group. 3. AMPAN-2 said he passing along request 'for what it worth', personally thought it cheap price for future good will. Said Suarez remaining WAVE area awaiting return AMBANG-1 on 3 Jan. Latter presently Puerto Rico for discussions Felipe Pazos and Governor Munoz Marin."

1/15/61 cable from WAVE to BELL: "AMPAN-2/Roberto Vale claims Ramon Lorido aka 'Monchin' assumed to be MRP treasurer on basis fund raising efforts WAVE area has made frequent calls (to) AMPAN-2 past week re subject ref cable (WAVE 2629). In each case AMPAN-2 replied he has passed info on to subject. Has also advised LORIDO that AMBANG-1/Manuel Ray should convey needs directly..."

11/25/72, Cable from Director to Managua (Info: WH/Miami): (Orig: Withheld, Unit: C/WH/2/CN): REF: MANAGUA 18366 (IN-766052) "1. No additional info needed at this time. Will advise if further action required. 2. No file. E2 inpdet. WH Comment: Ref provided info on commercial activities Manuel Artime and offered obtain additional details from local Cuban contacts including AMPAN-3."

Undated CIA document: ..."5. (REDACTION) AMPAN-3 (handwritten note: 271764). Recruited by AMPAN-2/Roberto Vale and as close to each other that we referred to them as the 'Gold Dust Twins.' Ramon was in the shipping business in Havana and eventually had to leave. He lost his home, cars, furnishings, etc. His firm is now planning to send him to Nicaragua, and I have recommended him to the Nicaragua desk (Dr. Trenta). He has all the qualities ascribed to Adolfo San Pelato (see above) except that he has never been an American citizen. He speaks excellent English. He is dedicated, courageous and most anxious to maintain contact with the Agency. It will be our loss if this is not done..."
