Beginning during 1961-1962, Duney Perez Alamo was chief of military operations of the ELC (Ejercito de Libertador of Cuba) a left of center group that remained loyal to the imprisoned Major Huber Matos. It allied with JURE during 1962-1964. It included former associates of Manolo RAY, such as Ramon BARQUIN and Ernesto BETANCOURT.

Charles Ford cable, 9/29/62: At RFK's request, Ford met with the ELC, including Ernesto Betancourt, Duney Perez Alamo, AMDENIM-11 (Eddie Bayo) and other operations officers about the major uprising of 10,000 (note: supposedly) planned for 9/30/62. After talking to RFK on the 26th, Ford advised Betancourt not to go forward with the uprising. RFK was interested in the ELC, as JFK had been in the past. There was also Maxwell Taylor-"plus" involvement with Duney Perez Alamo and Alwin Odio Tamayo.

3/16/64 FBI report: Perez Alamo was a Captain in the DIER (Department of Investigations in the Revolutionary Army) until arrested in Oct 1959 - after he was cleared, he went into exile July 1961. On 1/17/64 at a meeting at Cisneros' home, the ELC agreed to "incorporate under the leadership of JURE". They had a past relationship - when Ray resigned from the MRP in 1961, "the ELC was formed from a segment of the former MRP". Ernesto Betancourt is in charge of ELC civil matters. Alberto Enrique Juncadella is believed to be a CIA spy and may have to be assassinated. Armando Alanis Angulo is JURE's personnel chief. The imprisoned Hubert Matos gave his personal approval for ELC to join forces with JURE...".
