Cryptonym: AMHINT-14
Towards the end of 1960 he claimed to have set off four bombs at the University of Havana. Hernandez Suarez and other DRE members sought asylum in foreign embassies in Havana in May 1961. He claimed to have established the Youth Section of the MDC in an FBI report in November 1961. However, a CIA cable in May 1964 stated that he had been in prison for three years. Therefore, the possibility exists that it might have been someone else, but with the same name.

(See Attachment #8, References C and D). The text of the attached declaration, well oriented and documented against International Communism in Cuba, has also been transmitted over the DRE radio program 'Trinchera' on Radio Swan. 5. One of the many exile student arrivals, Julio Hernandez Suarez (attachment #10) in an interview with the Miami Herald stated that he had exploded four bombs during the speeches delivered at the 29 November meeting of pro-Castro students at the portals of the University of Havana."
