Cryptonym: AMDOG-1
The references to AMDOG-1 often refer to knowing what Ray was doing, or knowing what the crew was doing - the perfect job for an aide such as Jose Puente Blanco.
It is probable some of AMDOG-1's information appears to have been obtained from Alberado Dominguez. Also, and probably more importantly, on an Report Cover Sheet in August 1965, it was requested that Dominguez's name was not to be used in the source line.
However, in a CIA Information Report in August 1965, he does not appear to have been aboard the VENUS, which was the case with AMDOG-1. On the other hand, a January 1965 CIA Information Report stated that Dominguez was a crew member of the VENUS. It is possible his name was omitted from the August 1965 report to protect his identity as an agent/operative.
See 1994.04.06.10:30:14:250005 - Luis Posada/AMCLEVE-15 worked with Jose Puente Blanco in the anti-Castro underground in the 1960-61 period.

Meeting with Dr. Miro Cardona 15 Sept 1961: "...there is the Montecristi organization with Carrillo. These are fine people. They are small in number but very capable. Now here is the list they sent me recently. It is a petition for arms. I showed it at the White House. These arms are needed for this group in the Escambray. REDACTED brought me this. This is one of the groups with which I am in contact...Captain Leslie Nobregas, Arturo Morales, Julian Vinas, Gustavo Fernandez, Luis Torres, Manuel Gallegas, Agustin Gonzalez, Abelardo Dominguez, Dorrego, Jorge Nobregas/AMOT-34, Victor Zayas...as to the groups here in the States, they are in a state of confusion and they are manipulated by Carlos Prio, who is trying to get a government in exile and is having a demonstration here tonight or tomorrow. This position is in direct conflict with the U.S. (Recounts some of his difficulties with the press; discusses at great length his position versus that of Carlos Prio; denounces Alonso Pujol/AMECRU-1's comments in the press against him."

The principal people in Puerto Rico working with MRP include Manolo Ray, Felipe Bazos, Col Barquin, engineer Juan Melendez (MRP delegate), Gelavert (architects' president), Rodolfo Nodal (lawyers' president), J. Miguel Pordela (secretary to the lawyers), Dr. Portela (VP of doctors), Claudio Carmona (accountant), Jermonio Estevez (merchant), Dr. Bergnus, engineer Gabriel Alvarez, and Sara Portela (female director of the lawyers).
104-10180-10066: BIOGRAPHY SHEET ON JOSE PUENTE BLANCO
Circa 1963: Biography of Jose Puente Blanco: "During his university days, Jose, who is now RAY's secretary for student youth, was a well known Cuban student leader, who was later to become the first student president of FEU after Castro came to power...after nine months in prison (after the Bay of Pigs) Jose and his brother were released by Castro as the result of direct intervention by Thelma King/HYSAGE-1, deputy to the Panamanian assembly and extraordinarily pro-Castro...there is no conclusive evidence pointing towards Jose's involvement, past or present, with Castro's security apparat." Also see 180-10145-10269, p. 35: A meeting is described with Rogelio Cisneros/AMBANG-4, attended by "Armando Alanis Angulo/possible AMTAUP-2, Dunney Perez Alamo/AMLUNT-2, Jose Puente Blanco, national chief JURE youth and member of JURE national executive, and AMTAUP-2...(Venezuelan president) Romulo Betancourt promised to arrange urgent meeting with US officials in Washington to get promise from them that CIA would not sabotage any of JURE's planned operations."

As of 2/2/65, Jose Ricardo Rabel Nunez (201-249386), Captain of the M/V Venus, was still plotting against Manuel Ray Rivero...he is believed to be planning to exfiltrate his wife from Cuba and/or planning to use the Venus in a commando raid against an unidentified Cuban target. He will then proceed to an unidentified key known to Ricardo Adelis Cobos (see See CD 1085, p. 157 & 162 of 225 - a colleague of Osvaldo Pino Pino who worked in the El Chico Restaurant, 171 Howell, Dallas) where the weapons will be cached...On 2 February, the following crew members left JURE's Dominican base for Puerto Rico aboard the Shark V, a craft owned by Enrique Casados, a Cuban exile who fishes near Beata Island in the Dominican Republic (Note: The second page of this document is missing - it can be found at 104-10180-10090, p. 5) The document has the marginalia 201-731777 at the bottom - the bio identifier for AMBIG-3, Ricardo Adelis/Adolis Cobos.
