A CIA report on May 30, 1961, stated that "other information obtained by the reporting agent indicates that three Navy vessels are engaged in operations and that one of these craft is under the command of Manuel Rodriguez Alonso."
A dispatch written by Stanley R. Zamka (David Morales) on June 20, 1961, stated that there had been "many conflicts" within the Cuban Navy in Exile "between Rodriguez Alonso, Renato Diaz and Driggs (fnu). Recently Renato Diaz and Rodriguez Alonso have joined forces to fight against Driggs." The dispatch also noted that "Manuel Rodriguez Alonso is sailing on the ship 'Tejana No. 55' and members of the Navy are well pleased with this man as he is believed to be brave and is very well liked by the Naval personnel." In addition, the dispatch stated that "Toto Rodriguez Alonso" was among the thirteen men who were being given an intelligence course in June of 1961. This was reported by AMOT-63.
A cable on June 28, 1961, stated "WAVE terminating A-4 (Larry Laborde), 5 & 6 in order be able to bring TEJANA matters to head."
A memo in September of 1963 from Alice B. Caponong (probably Evalena S. Vidal), included Manuel P. Rodriguez Alonso, address - 1271 W. 60th Terrace, Hialeah, as among the Cuban Military Pilots in Exile. This list (and others) had been provided by AMBUD-1 (Jose Miro Cardona) and the Chief of the AMBUD (Cuban Revolutionary Council - CRC) Military Sector, at the request of the Departments of State and Defense.
02/22/61: Cable from JMWAVE to BELL: Slugline JMZIP TEJANA: "1. Request crypts be assigned FOLL individuals who now crew and maintain the Tejana: A. Alberto Fernandez Hechevarria (note: became AMDENIM-1), owner. Will go on first few operations. B. Robert C. Stevens Jr., Captain. C. George Michael Kappes, engineer and operations officer. D. Lawrence J. Laborde (note: became AMDENIM-4) 27 Aug 09 New Orleans, Port Captain. Has been with Tejana for eight years and invaluable its upkeep. E. Naval Candidate 8501, senior Cuban officer aboard. F. Naval Candidate 8071, deck officer. G. Naval Candidate 8146, deck officer. H. Naval Candidate 8190, engine room assistant. Gunner. I. Eduardo Antonio Baez Ayala, 6 Aug 20, Havana, Cuba. Will be trained as gunner. J. Pedro Ernesto Diaz, 7 Nov 31, Santa Llora, diesel engineer. K. Eduardo Perez Gonzalez (note: became AMDENIM-11), 18 March 27 Santiago de Cuba. Ordinance man. Responsible for armament of boat. L. Rafael Casals y Fernandez de Cueto, 6 Oct 06, Cienfuegos, Cuba. Cook. M. N. Antonio Cuesta Valle (note: became AMDENIM-14), 13 June 26, at Santiago de Cuba. (Same duties as M above). 2. Request POA's SUBJ I thru N. Local ODENVY (FBI) checks negating..." - - - In this version of the same document, Manuel Rodriguez Alfonso is handwritten in line with "F. Strong proof that this is the crypt list of AMDENIM-1 through AMDENIM-14 who crewed and maintained the Tejana in early 1961.

Cosculluela Iduate collected in six periods, of my life Brochures I to VI included: Page 99 (Spanish to English translation): ..."Upon returning to the ship on Stock Island, the captain agreed with my return and new faces of Americans appear on the ship. The most Robert C Stevenson (with the alias of Bob Burke) and Grayston Lynch move with authority in the Terminal in which the yacht 'The Tejana' is also docked. An old subchaser 110 feet with mixed crew but whose commander is former ship captain Armando Rodriguez Alonso whom I didn't know personally but of which I have great admiration. Because of their service sheet in the army, they in The Tejana made operations along the coast (of) Northern Cuba..."
05/30/61: CIA report: "Source: Information furnished by persons who work in the Naval offices. Report: As previously reported, the personnel of Naval Intelligence is very active. Yesterday they rented and moved to a house which is 20 minutes out of the city of Miami, inside a farm, according to reliable sources. That in the past few days, Orlando Gomez Gil (handwritten note above name: AMOT-32) and Cesar Rodriguez Pintado (handwritten note: AMOT-62), who used to be members of this Commission, have had interview with Mr. Renato Diaz Blanco and 'Gallego Diego'; the latter is acting as Chief of Intelligence and it is believed that Gomez-Gil (AMOT-32 again written above name) and Rodriguez Pintado (AMOT-62 again written above name) are going to work with the Naval Section. Other information obtained by the reporting agent indicates that three Navy vessels are engaged in operations and that one of these craft is under the command of Manuel Rodriguez Alonso. Great secrecy is maintained about the above and these activities are planned in the Intelligence Offices, according to the information obtained. The Navy continues to enlist all persons who may have some experience in naval affairs."

06/20/61: Dispatch from Chief of Base, JMWAVE to Chief, WHD: "1. On 27 May 1961 AMOT-6 (probably Marcos Diaz Lanz) reported that the Cuban Navy in Exile has been very active recently and it is rumored that there is a Cayo (key) where a base is being put into condition. Taking part in this operation are Renato Diaz Blanco and Nino Diaz. There are many conflicts within this sector between Rodriguez Alonso, Renato Diaz and Driggs (fnu). Recently Renato Diaz and Rodriguez Alonso have joined forces to fight against Driggs...6. Other information obtained indicates that three Naval vessels are engaged in operations and that one of the craft is under the command of Manuel Rodriguez Alonso. Great secrecy is maintained about these activities...7. Manuel Rodriguez Alonso is sailing on the ship 'Tejana No. 55' and members of the Navy are well pleased with this man as he is believed to be brave and is very well liked by the Naval personnel...15. On 7 June 1961 AMOT-6 reported that on 6 June 1961 there was a meeting in the Navy office attended by Renato Diaz Blanco, Driggs, Rodriguez Alonso, Martinez Illas, the Cancio's and other Naval officers who agreed to look for competent personnel for Naval intelligence as the Americans are thinking of giving these personnel an intelligence specialization course...20. On 8 June 1961 AMOT-63 reported that an intelligence course is being given to thirteen men on the farm located at Southwest 128th Street. The following are some of the men taking the course: Joaquin Varela, Reinaldo Lazo, Demetrio Perez, Toto Rodriguez Alonso, Dr. Alonso (fnu) and Aizcorbe (fnu). They have been given the cryptonyms Z-1, Z-2, Z-3, etc...Stanley R. Zamka (David Morales)."
06/28/61: Cable from Director to JMWAVE: JMZIP: REF: WAVE 6901 (IN-31498): "Request hold ref action in abeyance pending outcome negotiations with AMDENIM presently being held WASH. *WAVE terminating A-4 (Larry Laborde), 5 & 6 in order be able to bring TEJANA matters to head. **Asked if authority granted 9 Feb (unintelligible) in effect for A-5 & 6."
