Cryptonym: AMDENIM-12
A cable on February 1, 1962, with the slugs JMZIP, PM (Paramilitary), stated that Rafael Casals y Fernandez de Cueto was among the members of the Tejana crew who JMWAVE requested renewal of their POAs. Also included were Lawrence J. Laborde (AMDENIM-4), Eduardo Perez Gonzalez (AMDENIM-11), Joaquin Powell Rubio (AMDENIM-13), Armando Rodriguez Alonso, Mario Esteban Redondo Fernandez, Alfredo Mir Viana, and Francisco Canizares Gamboa, who was trainee 3166. Their 201 numbers were also included. A handwritten note and underlining of 201 numbers appeared to indicate that Lawrence Laborde was the exception to the copies that had been filed.
A PASSAVOY memo in August of 1962 stated that Rafael Fernandez del Cueto was one of six MRR personnel in Cuban jails following their capture. The others were Enrique Copero, Manuel Guillot (note: AMBRONC-5), Manuel Reyes, Arturo Mugarra, and Juan Falcon (note: probably AMFOX-1). Angel Aparicio Laurencio, delegate of the Cuban Revolutionary Council (CRC) in Brazil, indicated "that the situation of Manuel Reyes, Arturo Mugarra, Rafael Fernandez del Cueto and Juan Falcon (collaborating and appearing on TV)" was "not serious."
It appears unclear whether Rafael Fernandez del Cueto and Rafael Casals y Fernandez de Cueto were one and the same person.

Attached is a copy of the letter received by Dr. Miro from Angel Aparicio Laurencio (AMTOAD-1), delegate of the Council in Brazil, relating the reply received by the Brazilian Foreign Office from Cuba as a result of the Brazilian intervention, at request of CRC Delegate, on behalf of the six (6) MRR personnel who are prisoners in Cuban jails following their capture. As I understood from Dr. Miro some or all of the these men were in an infiltration operation. 2. Aparicio indicates that the situation of Enrique Copero and Manuel Guillot (AMBRONC-5) is very serious because of the accusations against them, and he urges everything possible be done to try to save their lives.
