06/18/70: Cable from WH/Miami to Director: Page 3: "4. We have learned from AMCRUMP-5 that special modified bertram boats, 31 feet with 2 each mercruiser inboard engines rated at 325 horsepower each have been ordered by Haitian Government. The boats are also equipped with radar and forward mount and heavy weapon. To date, only 2 boats have been completed. AMCRUMP-5 learned above as result of his current proprietorship of a marine services company, reportedly, 10 to 12 boats are in order. While no information is available to contradict the fact that these are being ordered for the Haitian Government, we speculate that this may be actually for Cuban exiles. The purchasing agent is James Beyer who has been involved in previous purchases for Davalier. 5. File: 201-290781, 201-242256, 201-289159. GP-1"
