Cryptonym: AMCONCERT-1

Definition:
Francisco Wilfredo Varona Alonso, AKA "Pancho," AKA "Paco." No relation to FRD chief Tony Varona.
Status:
Documented
Discussion:
Sources 104-10061-10115 and 104-10109-10162 should be read together. Also, see sources for AMRYE-1, Anthony Sforza, that establish that "Frank" (AMCONCERT-1's case officer) is Sforza.

104-10061-10115: LIST OF NAMES RE KENNEDY ASSASSINATION INVESTIGATION

This HSCA-era crypt decode list identifies AMCONCERT-1 as "Francisco Wilfedo VARONA Alonso."

104-10183-10073: BIOGRAPHICAL DATA SHEET, AMCONCERT-1

This 6/17/62 document is an English translation of biographical data reported by Francisco Wilfredo Varona, AKA "Pancho," AKA "Paco," on Carlos Tepedino Gonzalez who, along with Tepedino's wife, Amada, had been old friends for 25 years of Pancho's wife's (Norma Ugarriza) family. The marginalia at the top of this doc establishes that this report was from AMCONCERT-1. One word in the note at the bottom is incorrect; the note should read that Tepedino's father "is known to Sloman" (not "as Sloman") (Sloman => Tony Sforza).

104-10109-10162: CHARLES GOVEA AND FRANCISCO WILFREDO "PANCHO" VARONA ALONSO

This 6/18/69 doc, written by the CIA Miami Station Chief, Anthony R. Ponchay (Jake Esterline), contains an abundance of biographic data on Pancho and his CIA case officers, especially "Frank" (Tony Sforza). This data matches the data in Pancho's bio on Tepedino (104-10183-10073).

1993.07.21.16:50:43:900280: RODRIGUEZ (TAMAYO), FRANCISCO - OS/SAG SECURITY FILES FOR HSCA

1968: Pancho accuses "Enrique" (one of the aliases used by Tony Sforza/AMRYE-1) as giving the instructions to a plan to assassinate Julio Aton Constanzo. The men who did the shooting were allegedly Ricardo Morales Navarette, Francisco Rodriguez Tamayo, and "El Gall__". The other planners were allegedly Joaquin Sanjenis, Vincente Zorrilla and Manuel Villapana.
