A cable in February of 1960 stated that "AMCLATTER-9 told AMCLATTER-1 (Bernard Barker) that the expected undercover assignment for his 11-15 Feb visit Miami did not materialize and his visit included no mission for Cuban police. A-1 believe this be truth." The cable also noted that A-1 debriefed A-9 in January, 1960, on the latter's mission to Guatemala. AMCLATTER-9's 201 number was 201-269700.

A cable in June of 1960 stated that AMCLATTER-4 questioned AMCLATTER-9 on the security of a trip for the wife of AMCLATTER-1. A-9 felt that she would encounter no difficulty and was prepared to meet her at the airport if advance notice was given.

06/16/60: Cable from Havana to Director: JMNET: REF HAVA 4943 (IN 12384): 1. For Karnley (probably Ken Crosby). Following exams doctors say no hope for mother of AMCLATTER's (Bernard Barker) wife and only question of time. Understand this report telephoned to her by relatives here. 2. AMCLATTER-4 queried AMCLATTER-9 regarding security of trip for wife. A-9 feels she will encounter no difficulty and prepared meet her airport if advance notice is given. 3. Olien (Jim Noel) feels there element of risk in her coming and she probably will be subjected to interrogation if authorities realize she is here. C/S Comment: *Difficult determined in advance whether AMCLATTER-1's wife would be detained, questioned or molested if she should return because of her mother's illness."
