This State Dept. volume includes this memo regarding the FRD, providing background: "The FRD is a coalition of several anti-Castro groups which was organized in New York last spring and public announced at a press conference of its Executive Committee members in Mexico City on June 21, 1960." The ExCom members are Autentico Party leader Tony Varona, Montecristi leader Justo Carrillo, MDC leader Jose Rasco, MRR leader Manuel Artime, and Cuban Association of Cane Growers vice president Rafael Sardina Sanchez.

Volume X of the HSCA Report has a section on the Cuban Revolutionary Council (CRC), which also describes its "forerunner," the FRD.
