Donald Dean Bohning, Latin American editor of Miami Herald and CIA source. A memo on June 5, 1968, stated that Donald Dean Bohning was AMCARBON-3.

Bohning was granted a PCSA on August 21, 1967, and a CSA on November 14, 1967. PCSA was a preliminary covert security approval; CSA was the next step. With a covert security approval, the recipient may not know that she or he is being used by the CIA.

A cable on April 28, 1971, stated that "AMCARBON/3 said (Irving) Davidson personally responsible for setting up press tour of palace and Dessalines Barracks on 26 April, which went over very well."
