This cable stated that "AMBLESS-3 (handwritten - Violeta del Junco Mesa) phoned "Hitch" (Calvin Hicks) at HQS morning 6 Sept saying Pedro J. L. Alvarez Pio...arrived from Havana on...night 5 Sept. Has message for Hitch from AMBLESS-1 (Alberto del Junco Mesa)."

A memo on September 26, 1961, from Chief, Western Hemisphere Division, stated that "approval was granted for the passage of RS-6 radio gear complete with signal plan, pads and crystals into Cuba via AMBLESS-3 channels which utilize a foreign diplomatic courier."

9/6/61 cable from WH/4/PM Cal Hicks to JMWAVE: "AMBLESS-3 (handwritten - Violeta del Junco Mesa) phoned "Hitch" (Hicks) at HQS morning 6 Sept saying Pedro J. L. Alvarez Pio...arrived from Havana on PAA flt night 5 Sept. Has message for Hitch from AMBLESS-1 (Alberto del Junco Mesa). Today debrief and make arrangements to meet Alvarez. Advise. Just received SW (shortwave) from A-1 as follows: 'We received money. It is not enough. 1st Sept Pedro J. L. Alvarez, uncle national chief of maritime supply and receptions and communications will depart via Miami. You can contact him through the person we have in Miami. (Evidently means AMBLESS-3). His return when mission completes urgent. Magno Morelo Melo is assistant national coordinator of MDC at present time that is to say he will be the one who will keep in contact with you in the event I disappear. Visa waivers requested have not arrived.' Make arrangements with AMBLESS-3 to pass RS-6 radio complete with pads, sigplan and crystals to AMBLESS-1 in same manner money was passed. AMBLESS-3 has already checked and informed "Hitch" this could be done. RIMM authorized provide radio equipment as requested."

Dr. Tirso del Junco-Mesa (born April 20, 1925 in Havana, Cuba) is a general surgeon, Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a graduate from the University of Havana medical school. Former president of the medical staff of Queen of Angeles Hospital and Santa Marta Hospital, Los Angeles, California . He is also a member of the medical staff of the Saint Vincent Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital. Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery of the, California College of Medicine - Irvine. He is founder and former Chairman of Los Angeles National Bank. Member of Board of Regents of University of California (1985-1997). He was Chairman and Member of the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service. He is a Former delegate to the United States Delegation to the 22nd Conference UNESCO. Former Chairman of the California Republican Party 1980 and again in 1993 and national chair of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly in the mid-1980s. Delegate to the Republican National Convention 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004. Former Captain United States Army and Chief of Surgery of Camp Hanford Army Hospital. Former medical officer Cuban Army of liberation "Bay of Pigs..."a Member of American Federation of Television and Radio Arts. Former Ambassador Sovereign Military Order of Malta to Nicaragua. He was a member of the Cuban rowing team at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, England. Recipient of numerous awards including Americanism medal, Daughters of the American Revolution. He is a Member of the Knight of Magisterial Grace Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Visitors of the United State Naval Academy. 1963: Lorenzo Pascillo aka Loran Hall and Skip Hall and Gerry Patrick aka Gerry Hemming were sent by Dick Watley to visit Richard Hatchcock in Los Angeles, who loaned them a 30 06 rifle when he learned they were broke. Hall retrieved the rifle on 9/18/13 and paid $50 for it. Dr. Tirso del Junco/AMBLESS-1 said he remembered Hall in the LA area in early 1963 as the campaign manager for the unsuccessful Congressional campaign of candidate Guy Gabaldon.
