Discussion:

Two cables in May of 1969 stated that the identity was Ignacio Piterre Rivera. The first cable mentioned AMMEDIA-1. The second cable stated that from 1961 to the present, Piterre was "Professor Mathematics small college Jacksonville, FLA...friend and benefactor Carlos Alfaras Varela and Bertha Fernandez since mid-forties when both worked for him in Minister Education of Grau San Martin regime; Alfaras recently assured Piterre that their friendship remains as warm as ever...naturalized U.S. citizen. Was active in Triple A, jailed and exiled under Batista."

A cable from WH/Miami in July, 1971, stated that "this being so, believe AMMUG-1's (Vladimir Lahera Rodriguez) primary goal is to establish contact with KDACOUSTIC-1 (Rafael Mirabal Fernandez) and assure him that if he ever decided to defect from PBRUMEN (Cuba), that AMMUG-1 can serve as his channel of communication with LNFORT (U.S. Government). This of course same rationale being used in the AMBEATNIK-1/AMMEDIA-1 relationship."
