104-10172-10291: DISPATCH- REDWOOD/REDSKIN/REDCAF/A/5 GRIGORIY YE GOLUB
The American consul gave his Soviet counterpart Gregoriy Golub two tickets to see Leonard Bernstein. Golub took AEPAWNEE-5 to the show. On Oct 13 the two consuls had lunch, Golub thanked the American, and told him citizens could now obtain an instant visa to get into the USSR thru Helsinki. (Note: Oswald did just that on Oct. 14) After a great amount of flirting, Golub gave Pawnee-5 his wife's pajamas, only to return and "found her standing nude in the middle of the room." The story is that Golub slept in another room and didn't call her after that visit.

"From information contained in the file of Nikolay G. Makeyev, #261770, it would appear that the unnamed TRUD correspondent is actually Makeyev...Makeyev served as TRUD correspondent in Helsinki beginning in April 1958. On 4 September 1959 he was a dinner partner of an unnamed staff employee...he attempted 'ardent cultivation' of the staffer who was identified by the pseudonym assigned to Lydia Biddle...Biddle had driven her own car, and as it turned out, Makeyev had not, and solicited a ride from Biddle. He insisted on taking her up to his apartment, which she declined..." The previous page refers to Lydia S. Biddle, #88420.
