At the 44th anniversary of the JFK assassination, resolution of the "Crime of the Century" remains elusive and a surprising number of stories continues to emerge.

An article by journalist Jefferson Morley on Playboy.com discusses some of the recent revelations and controversies, including:

• Medical Evidence. Morley discusses witness allegations that call into question the authenticity of autopsy photographs.
• Acoustics Evidence. A police recording may have caught on tape a shot from the grassy knoll.
• Single Bullet Theory. The science on which the lone-gunman theory is based has been debunked by scientists.
• CIA Obstruction of Justice?. Morley has revealed that a CIA propaganda officer named George Joannides, who was in charge of a group connected to Oswald in 1963, was put into a liaison position with the House Select Committee on Assassinations. The CIA continues to stonewall release of Joannides records.

A research conference held in Dallas this past weekend by JFK Lancer covered some of these matters, as well as the controversial recent confession of E. Howard Hunt, who named on tape those he said participated in the JFK murder.

The appearance of "case-closing" books like Vincent Bugliosi's Reclaiming History (see the blog www.reclaiminghistory.org for commentary on the book) is contrasted with credible stories and document releases which continue to paint a far different picture. The national tragedy and its aftermath of deceit and distrust lives on, 44 years later.
