It is my understanding that at this time Raul had already gathered a number of Marxist Professors who were Spanish nationals and who had been active for the Republic in the Spanish Civil War.

It is a history of this kind of action that made Otto Opteka suspicious of Wieland. Wieland with his vast experience in Cuba since 1933 and also during the Bogotazo in 1948 was clearly in a position to know by this time that Castro was an activist with extremely strong ties to the communists.
 
Did These may have included the feared Angel S nchez Mosquera

One wonders if these MAP forces included those lead by Angel S nchez Mosquera. If so this would be most interesting since this much feared unit was mainly chasing after Fidel and Guevara.
 
B-26 I saw the bombing with B-26

I observed the bombing with B-26 of Pino del Agua(II). From my point of view in the upper Bayamo River Valley, it seemed most impressive, but apparently not very effective. It is my understanding that Francisco Rodriguez Tamayo "El Mejicano) and possibly Rene Cuervo (have to check execution date)were involved
 
Castro in 1951

It is most odd that this document contains the name of Fidel Castro described as having a clearly communist role in 1951. Supposedly the US government did not know this at the time ...
